Dr. Rasheena Bansal is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at New Delhi. Her expertise is in the field of Micro-incision Cataract surgery (MICS Phacoemulsification), Complex Cataract surgery, Medical and Surgical diseases of Children, Adults with Strabismus, and Neuro-ophthalmology. Dr. Rasheena Bansal is a board-certified ophthalmologist, member of the All India Ophthalmology Society, Delhi Ophthalmological Society AND Strabismological Society of India and a fellowship-trained Paediatric Ophthalmology & Squint surgeon.
Originally from Chandigarh, she graduated from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune, Maharashtra and went on to complete a Masters Degree in Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, and Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Following her higher surgical training in Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, she completed a Long term Clinical fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Squint & Neuro-ophthalmology at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. Therefater, she underwent Clinical Observership in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Department of Ophthalmic and Visual Sciences, University of Arizona, Tucson, USA under the guidance of Dr. J Miller.
Through her training and research, she has authored many scientific papers in peer-reviewed National and International Ophthalmology journals. She is actively involved in clinical research and regularly presents scientific papers at national & international ophthalmology meetings.

Professional Work Experience
Internship: 01.01.2001 to 31.12.2001 at General Hospital, Sector- 16, Chandigarh
Postgraduate Residency: Three years training for Diplomate of National Board at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai.
The 3-year structured training programme included an original research thesis work. My study was a prospective trial entitled “Randomized Comaparative Study of Intraoperative 5- Fluorouracil and Mitomycn C in Primary Trabeculectomy in Primary Adult Onset Glaucomas” under the guidance of Dr. Krishnadas, which was submitted and subsequently accepted by the Diplomate of National Board.
Surgical Experience included supervised/ independently performed surgeries like extra capsular cataract extraction, Small incision cataract surgery, Phaco emulsification, trabeculectomies, combined ECCE and trabeculectomy, penetrating keratoplasty, dacryocystorhinostomy, squints, repair of lid lacerations, corneoscleral perforations and the whole range of minor operative procedures including entropion and ectropion repairs and tarsorrhaphy procedures. Also performed laser procedures like YAG capsulotomy, peripheral iridectomies, Panretinal Photocoagulation and barrage lasers independently.
Assisted various surgeries like buckling surgery for retinal detachments, vitreoretinal surgery, deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, AMT with ALT, orbitotomies etc.
I have presented various seminars, cases and journal clubs in various departments. In addition, participated in inter departmental educational meetings and conferences and presented at these meetings.
