PHAKIC IOLS

Removal of glasses, if unfit for LASIK

Phakic posterior intraocular lens implantation is currently an excellent option for high myopes/ hyperopes, who desire spectacle independence but are not good candidates for LASIK or photorefractive keratectomy (PRK).

ICL (IMPLANTABLE COLLAMER LENS)
The Next Generation of Vision Technology

From Glasses to Contacts to LASIK, ICL ushers in the next generation of vision technology. Many vision correction procedures promise an improved level of vision, but few can promise the level of quality found with ICL. It’s called High Definition Vision, its sharper, clearer, with greater depth and dimension.

ICL = Implantable Collamer Lens

icl

What is ICL? While you may have heard it called the Implantable Contact Lens, ICL officially stands for Implantable Collamer Lens. Collamer is a technologically advanced lens material, it is 100% compatible with your body’s natural chemistry. Among collamer’s advantages are its anti-reflectivity and UV protection. The ICL is the best choice for a lens that is going to remain in your eye for a lifetime.

A Simple Procedure

The ICL procedure is a short 15minute outpatient procedure. Prior to the implantation of the ICL, you will receive topical anesthetic drops to minimize discomfort. The doctor then creates a micro opening to insert the lens. The lens is folded and loaded into a small cartridge and as the lens is injected, it gently unfolds in your eye. Patients then experience an immediate improvement in vision quality and are “Wowed” by the results.

Good Candidates

If you are between the ages of 21 and 45 and nearsighted, you are an excellent candidate for the ICL. With ICL we are able to treat patients with thin corneas, dry eyes and patients with low and extreme high refractive errors. In fact, if you have thin corneas or dry eyes, ask your doctor if ICL may be the best vision correction option for you. Generally Lasik Surgeon chooses ICL where Lasik Laser Eye Surgery is ruled out; therefore ICL is not just an alternative; it is the good choice for superior vision quality. The cost of ICL for both eyes is Rs 1.25 Lac
